Are you interested in being recognised for your contribution to farming? Then the FBD Young Farmer of the Year Awards are an opportunity for you, as a young farmer, to represent your county and receive a prize. You could also be in with a chance to win a travel bursary and experience farm practices abroad while developing your skills. Every county can have a representative for each of the following farming sectors: beef, dairy, sheep or tillage/other, collaboration, land mobility.
The closing date for entries is Friday May 18th 2018.
The final will take place on Tuesday 11th September in the FBD Castleknock Hotel. On the night a winner will be announced for each category. There will also crown the overall Young Farmer Of The Year. We will also have awards for the Best Emerging Female Farmer, Best Emerging Male Farmer and Young Farmer Bio Diversity.
Who Can Enter?
Farmers must be:
- Under 35 years of age on the 1st January 2018 and a member of Macra na Feirme or the IFA
- Involved in the running of the farm on which they currently work for a least three years, either full time or part time.
Note: All 2017 county winners and all past ‘FBD Young Farmer of the Year’ winners are ineligible to enter – all other entrants from last year and previous years may enter the competition.
