Tomorrow the 54th Clarke Machinery Group Queen of the Land Festival, the largest festival in the Macra na Feirme calendar, will see 30 ladies descend to the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore. The Queen of the Land Festival is held from 9th-11th November and is very kindly sponsored by the Clarke Machinery Group. Clarke Machinery Group is operating out of four locations - two premises in Cavan, one in Meath and one in Roscommon with over 50 different franchises to choose from including Valtra, McHale, Kverneland, Redrock, Weidemann, Kubota to name but a few.
Our judging panel this year consists of Gerard Clarke, Managing Director of the Clarke Machinery Group, Emma Birchill, reigning 2017 Queen of the Land, Anna-Marie McHugh, National Ploughing Association Assistant Managing Director and Joe Healy, IFA President. Our MC is Will Faulkner from Midlands 103.
We have a jam packed weekend planned for all those in attendance. The Queens will be setting off on a tour to Clonmacnoise and Tullamore Dew on Friday afternoon with the evening entertainment beginning at 9.30pm. Renowned act, Marty Mone will be taking to the stage with hits such as “Hit the Diff” until late. Tickets are €10 on the door or through our website.
Saturday will see the girls being interviewed by our esteemed judges, being beautified by Ritzy’s and Opium Beauty Salon and meeting their escorts in Hugh Lynches. Evening entertainment will begin at 7pm, on stage interviews will begin at 8pm and entertainment will be provided by Transmitter, the Groomsmen and Joe Wynne with DJ until late. Tickets are €15 and can be purchased on the door or from our website.
On Sunday, the Queens and escorts will be going to Cosmic Bowl for some bowling before going to 1pm mass at the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore. The Queens and escorts will then be treated to some refreshments in the Harbour Bar. There is a gala banquet on Sunday evening with the doors opening at 6.30pm, music provided by the LOL’s and we will be crowning the 54th Clarke Machinery Group Queen of the Land 2018 at midnight. Tickets for Sunday are €45 and must be pre-booked from our website.
