Bord Bia Sustainable Beef Tour to Wales 2014
Bord Bia hosted a ‘Sustainable Beef Tour’ to Wales from Wednesday 23rd July to Friday 25th July ex Dublin Airport. A limited number of places were available to Macra members who are members of Bord Bia’s Quality Assurance Scheme and who undertook the Sustainability Survey at the time of their last audit.
This trip took in Royal Welsh Show as well as visits to beef farms in Wales (suckling and finishing enterprises) participating in sustainability programmes.

- Must be available to travel on the above dates
This was great opportunity to learn about the UK market for Irish beef and see new technologies and methods. The cost to you for this trip (which is subsidised) was €100 per person, which covered flights, internal transport and accommodation!

Study Trips to EU (Brussels) 12-14 July 2010
This was a three day trip (including travel) from Dublin Airport, Half Board to Brussels. Meetings were held with the EU Commission & EU Parliament representatives. It was part funded by EU Commission and cost to participants was €100 each.
Places were limited to a first come first served basis.
Study Trip to Northern Ireland 14 – 15 March 2010 Twelve members travelled by train from Dublin to Belfast and were hosted by the Ulster Young Farmers. The trip included a guided tour of Belfast and a tour of Stormont and the Northern Ireland Assembly.
North West Study Trips to EU (Brussels) 11 – 13 April 2010 Six members - Francis Bligh, Edward Duffy, David McDonagh, Colm Stenson, Raymond Gilmartin, led by Padraig Og Mulligan travelled to Brussels and met representatives in the European Parliament and EU Commission.
This trip was funded by the NW MEP’s Marian Harkin, Pat ‘The Cope’ Gallagher and Jim Higgins.
