North West King and Queen Festival
Donal McCabe from Longford Town Macra Club and Josephine McManus from South Leitrim Macra club have been crowned the North West Macra King and Queen 2010. The event took place in The Shannon Key West Hotel, Rooskey, Co Leitrim on Saturday the 23 January. The MC on the Night was Willie Hegarty from Shannonside Radio. Kings and Queens representing the nine Counties in the North West competed for the perpetual title.

They completed tasks including a questions and answers session, making and modelling an outfit with limited materials, followed by other novel events where team skills and communication were vital. The organizing committee were delighted with the huge attendance for the Banquet dinner and would like to thank all who came and supported the event. The North West Executive Committee fundraising draw also took place at the event, and the committee would like to thank the prize sponsors, Shannon Key West Hotel, Rooskey , FBD Insurance, Rally School of Ireland, Sheridan Electrics, Castlebar and Clonmel Park Hotel. The North West Annual Dodge Ball tournament took place on Sunday in the nearby Kilglass hall, and it was won by Caltra Macra Club, Galway.
