Dairygold to sponsor Macra Rally in Clonmel this year
Highlights of the weekend include a number of farm seminars, the national final of the Irish Farmers' Journal 'Know Your Agriculture' table quiz, the Bord Bia beef and sheep stockjudging competitions and the AIB Club of the Year final. The national final of Macra's Gaelic football and a special bowling competition will also be held over the weekend.
Delegates can also attend a Limousin Society seminar on Friday 26, a choice of farm walks and organised tours (dairy farm; alternative enterprise farm; Bulmers plant or Coolmore Stud) on Saturday 27, and the Gala Banquet, featuring guest speaker John Lonergan, Governor of Mountjoy Prison, on Sunday 28.
According to Dairygold Agri Director, Jim Woulfe, "Dairygold is proud to be associated with the Macra na Feirme Rally which this year takes place in our own catchment area. Over the years Dairygold has developed a strong relationship with Macra na Feirme. Many of our farmers are active members and ongoing supporters of the organisation. Macra plays a crucial role in training and educating young farmers and developing representatives who can confidently support the positive role our industry plays in rural Ireland. Dairygold supports that work and we wish South Tipperary Macra and the organising committee every success with this year's event."
Macra national president Catherine Buckley thanked Dairygold for their generous sponsorship and said she looked forward to welcoming a large crowd of delegates from right around the country to the event in October.
"The Rally is one of the most popular events in the Macra year and has been going from strength to strength in recent times. This year, again, sees a packed programme of activities planned for delegates and I would like to thank the organising committee in South Tipperay Macra who has already put in a huge amount of work in preparation for the event."
