For the past number of years, Macra na Feirme's national president has led a trip to Brussels for Macra county and regional chairpersons in recognition of the commitment of those voluntary workers who take on leadership roles and play a major part in the management of the organisation. The three-day trip generally includes a visit to the European Parliament as well as other cultural and tourist attractions.

This year's trip departs this Friday, 19 January with the itinerary for participants including a meeting for young farmers with Gerry Kiely, Head of Unit with DG Agri; a seminar on rural development with Francis White and a meeting with Carol McGinley of ICOS.
