The national final of the 2006 Macra na Feirme Dairy Stockjudging competition, sponsored by the Irish Dairy Board, took place last at the Irish Holstein Friesian Association Open Day on Peter Kingston's farm in Novohal, Cork as part of the Irish Holstein Friesian Association Open Day.

Winners were Shane Carroll from Carlow (under 23 category) and Sean Sexton from Cavan (senior category). Runners-up were Eddie O'Donnell from South Tipperary (under 23) and Michael Murphy from Wexford (senior).
