House Planning Discussion Group to be established by Limerick Macra na Feirme

01 March 2006
Motivated by the large number of young people currently planning on building their own homes in the county, Limerick Macra na Feirme has taken the step of establishing a 'House Planning Discussion Group'.

Mr Kevin Dore, Macra na Feirme National Council Representative for Limerick, explains that this is a new initiative from Macra na Feirme. He says that the aim is to create a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas between young people in the process of building a house.

'The knowledge required for such an endeavour is quite diverse in terms of planning, mortgages, securing builders etc., and with this in mind we are starting a 'House Planning Discussion Group' where young people can learn from the issues already encountered by others, as well as seeking advice from relevant professionals,' said Mr Dore.

The first meeting of Macra's House Planning Discussion Group will take place in the Woodlands House Hotel in Adare on March 7th at 8.30pm.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be attended by a planner from Limerick County Council who will give advice and answer questions from the floor.
