Fast Times at the ‘Racing for Macra’ Fundraiser

Macra held it’s first club and national fundraiser in decades this year in the form of it’s ‘Racing for Macra’ night at the dogs. The event was a resounding success with a large attendance at all four locations - Mullingar, Cork, Waterford and Galway greyhound stadiums. Entertainment, raffles, betting and sledding huskies combined to make it one of the best nights of the Macra year.
Clubs had been busy bees, selling tickets for the last few months - the proceeds of which will go towards the development of clubs and the support of the national organisation.
Ticket holders are also being included in a draw for €1000 or a weekend break. The official draw will take place on the 17th December in the Irish Farm Centre.
Macra National President, Kieran O’Dowd, said, “We had a fantastic event and we were delighted with the support we received. I’d also like to recognise the effort put in by each and every member and club – your hard work paid off. I’d like to thank our National Chairman, Ronan Feighery, our three Vice Presidents, Paddy Delaney, Sean Finan, and James Healy for the hard work they put into making this event a success. We’d also like to recognise the Irish Greyhound Board and their staff, along with Arrabawn Coop and all of our sponsors and associate members. We thank them for their ongoing support for Macra’s work.”
