Night at the Dogs Set to be Record Macra Gathering

The Macra club and national fundraiser ‘Racing for Macra’ night at the dogs is next on the Macra calendar, taking place on Saturday, the 30th November. With four venues across Ireland – there is a location for everyone – Mullingar; Galway; Curraheen, Cork; and Kilcohan, Waterford.
Every Macra Club in the country is currently busy selling tickets to their friends, family and local Macra supporters. The fundraiser is designed to support the great work of clubs in their
communities as well as support the work of the national organisation. For every €10.00 ticket sold, the club will receive €4.00. In addition, €4.00 is retained by Macra nationally to help fund services and supports provided to members, their clubs and their county/region. The remaining €2.00 will go to the Irish Greyhound Board and the running costs of the event.
Macra National President, Kieran O’Dowd, said, “The momentum and excitement is building as clubs plan their attendance whether they’re using it as a Christmas party night out or a county get together. Some clubs have been approached by former members who want to be part of the action and use it as a Macra Gathering night where they get to meet up with former members at one of the four venues across the country. It’s set to be a record get together of past and present Macra members.”
If you would like to support your local Macra club but can’t come along on the 30th November you will still be entered into a draw to win €1,000 or two nights B&B and one evening meal for two people in the Castleknock Hotel and Country Club, Dublin.
So, if you’d like to join us for our Macra gathering, ‘Racing for Macra’ at one of the four venues on the 30th November, please contact your local club, county representative or one of our venue organisers:
