Macra Ex President Elected to European Position

Macra na Feirme Ex President Alan Jagoe has been elected Vice President of CEJA, the European Council of Young Farmers, this afternoon in Brussels. Mr. Jagoe finished his term as Macra President in May at the national AGM.
During his time as Macra President, he had the opportunity to represent Ireland’s young farmers at National, European and International level. Some examples of his work included the very successful Macra/CEJA Young Farmers conference in March 2013 in Dublin. He has been instrumental in conducting studies and reports into “Land Mobility and Succession” and also very significant work with CAP reform in Ireland.
Macra National President, Kieran O’Dowd, said, “On behalf of Macra, I wish to congratulate Alan on his new position. Alan was an excellent representative for young farmers in his time with Macra and I have no doubt he will bring the same insight and commitment to CEJA. I wish him all the best in the role.”
Through Alan’s participation within CEJA as a delegate he has seen the magnificent work that the Presidency does and as a result put himself forward as a candidate for CEJA Vice President.
Mr. Jagoe said, “I will bring energy, enthusiasm, positivity and proactive ideas that will benefit young farmers for the future. As a team player I want to work as part of the presidency team for the benefit of all our member organisations. I want to tackle the many diverse issues and problems affecting young farmers today and develop solutions for the next generation of young farmers.”
