Northwest King and Queen 2012 Winners

Congratulations to Mary Guihen who hails from Leitrim Macra and Brian Casey from Longford Macra who were crowned Northwest King and Queen 2012 during the Macra na Feirme event held in Sligo Park Hotel, Sligo.

There were Kings and Queens representing the nine counties of North west Macra (Cavan, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Monaghan, Roscommon and Sligo).  The county representatives were paired into their King and Queen teams in a welcoming event which was followed by a four course banquet with all the supporters.

After the banquet, Mary and Brian successfully competed through five rounds of novel events including a questions and answers session, a make and model “an outfit fit for a King” and a royal dance off.  Mary Guihen and Brian Casey were crowned the Northwest King and Queen 2012 just before midnight. Congratulations to all the entries as follows;

• Declan Conaty and Deborah McCollum representing Cavan,

The 2012 event was judged by Alan Jagoe, National President of Macra na Feirme and Shane Meehan (Mayo), Northwest King 2011. The large audience was entertained by Master of Ceremonies, Comedy duo Michael Keogh and James Lennon who are National Talent Competition finalists. The royal celebrations continued with dancing till late.
