Looking ahead to a Bright 2012

A busy and exciting year has come to a close for Macra na Feirme. As an election year, 2011 saw new President, Alan Jagoe, from Carrigaline, Co. Cork take his place at the helm of the organization. In 2011, Macra came into it’s own on social media, growing our followers on both Facebook and Twitter and completely redesigning our website, macra.ie.
Macra delivered on many exciting competitions and events for members as well as continuing to represent and lobby on behalf of young farmers and rural youth. In particular, our Know Your Neighbour Weekend saw a particularly good year with registered events quadrupling and the demand for packs exceeding expectations.
Macra National President, Alan Jagoe, said, “I look forward to meeting more members in 2012 and travelling to visit all counties. 2011 has been an exciting and fun year with a lot of positivity and challenges. I believe that Macra, as an organization, has a lot to look forward to in 2012 and I look forward to forging the way ahead alongside my fellow members.”
