Top Tips on Nutrition and Diet – Free Seminar in Dungarvan
A seminar on nutrition and diet is open to the public free of charge on Saturday 17th April in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. Starting at 11.00am in the Causeway Tennis Club, the seminar will help all of us plan for a healthy diet as we look forward to summer and will be of interest also to sport and exercise enthusiasts of all levels and all ages - with nutritional tips on ‘being your best’ and opportunities to ask questions.
Margot Brennan (pictured) will be one of the keynote speakers in Dungarvan for the event, which is supported by Glanbia and The National Dairy Council as part of the Waterford Fesitval of Food.
Margot is an independent consultant nutritionist/dietitian, well known for her work with the Irish Nutrition Dietetic Institute (INDI) in the last decade, which has seen her contributing regularly to television and radio programmes. She has been an expert contributor to the ‘How Long Will I Live’ series for the past four seasons and is a regular contributor to TV3's Ireland AM.
Based in Castleknock in Dublin, Margot has a practice which specialises in weight management in adults and children whilst also working with patients coping with coronary heart disease, diabetes, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome and other gastro intestinal diseases.
Originally a graduate of Trinity College (Hons Bsc in Human Nutrition and a Diploma in Dietetics), Margot brings extensive experience to her audience. She worked previously with a baby food manufacturer, which saw her contributing to Schools of Midwifery, GP Training Schemes, Health Visitor Colleges and schools of Public Health Nursing on Infant and Childhood Nutrition. Over the years, she has provided nutrition support and nutritional screening tools for patients and residents in Our Lady Of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda Co Louth, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Trim; and Daughters Of Charity St Joseph’s Clonsilla, extending to the Navan Rd and Glenmaroon.
The Glanbia/NDC seminar on Saturday 17th April will also include a presentation by Noreen Roche, Dietician to the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Team. The facilitator for the event will be Kieran O’Connor, Glanbia.
