Glanmire Know Your Neighbour
08 August 2010, Cork/Seandun
Interested in a fun family day out where not only your kids will be entertained, but where there is lots of fun for all the family to enjoy. Well as the summer is officially here and the evenings are getting so much longer, Glanmire Macra members are currently organising a family fun day in aid of The Jack and Jill Foundation. This very eventful family fun day will take place on Sunday August 8th from 1-6pm in the Community Field in Upper Glanmire across from the Boothouse Bar, it will be held in conjunction with Know Your Neighbour Campaign. So if your new to the area or a long time resident what a better way to meet some of the vast community in Glanmire and the neighbouring villages. There lots of activities available on the day for all ages groups. We will have everything from Bouncing castles and slides, pony rides, children and parent races to vintage tractors, a crushed car, tug-o-wear, tossing sheaf and plenty of more surprises on the day. There are lots of prizes just waiting to be won including a prize for the most appropriate dressed on the day. And for all those hurling supporters there will be a raffle for a signed cork jersey by our very talented Cork hurlers. There will also be a chance for our Macra teams(5 people) to get involved in some friendly competition on the day, ranging from 10 different events which will include both individual and group events. These events range from three legged races, penalty shootout, welly throwing to a tug-o-war. Great fun to be had on the day. Since this is our first Glanmire Macra field day in years we would greatly appreciate the support of all the community. Further details from Joanne @ 0877626920
