We wish to compliment the hard work of our committee members, who have been working hard in the past weeks and months to ensure it will be a successful event.
Members from Inishowen, Inthru, North Donegal and Proper Job Macra clubs will all be involved so be sure to get out and show your support!.
All proceeds raised will go towards regional charities chosen by the clubs and to Donegal Macra.
Inthru Macra are raising money for the Killybegs coast guard. All members of Killybegs Coast Guard are local volunteers who freely give their valuable time and effort to the Coast Guard, local community and ‘those in peril on the sea’, cliffs and coasts of Ireland. Killybegs Coast Guard Unit has 25 volunteers who are on-call, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Proper Job Macra are raising money to contribute to an automated external defibrillator (AED) for the local community of Raphoe and surrounding areas.
Inishowen Macra are raising money for Insight Inishowen. Insight Inishowen provide a counselling service for people who have suffered from bereavement, depression or anxiety and provide mental health support throughout Inishowen. They visit schools to educate people on mental health. They also work alongside Assist who train people in how to offer first aid and how to respond when they discover someone who is/has contemplated suicide.
Donegal Macra funds will be used to help with the running costs of the Donegal county branch of Macra na Feirme. Macra na Feirme is a voluntary organisation for young people between the ages of 17 and 35. Macra na Feirme provides rural youth with the chance to meet young people from all over the country and to get involved in a wide variety of areas including agriculture, sport, travel, public speaking, performing arts and community involvement.
All funds raised will be put to good use straight away and all the members thank you in advance for your generous donations.
