The WR Shaw Queen of the Land Festival is a Macra na Feirme run festival celebrating the talents and achievements of its members. Featuring contestants from at home and abroad, the festival runs over three days drawing Macra na Feirme members and non-members from all over the country to Tullamore for the weekend. In 2015, the festival will celebrate 51 years in existence. Founded in 1964, it has gone from strength to strength throughout the years. 2015 will see a superb line-up of entertainment, to ensure those attending will not be disappointed. On Friday night, proceedings kick off with the official opening and at 8:30 Casino Night followed by DJ in the Palace Night Club. On Saturday at 3pm Introduction to escorts in Hugh Lynch's; while Saturday night sees the Queens take to the stage for interviews in front of family, friends and supporters. This will be followed with music by Transmitter, Abbey Folk and Joe Wynne. On Sunday night, a gala banquet and crowning of the 2015 WR Shaw Queen of the Land will take place.
