Dingle Weekend Away was a Real Winner!

The Rural Youth committee organised a fantastic trip away to Dingle. Twenty Macra members from around the country gathered in the Dingle Pub on the Friday evening for food. Traditional music was played in most public houses that we visited adding to the friendly atmosphere.

We stayed in the Dingle Harbour lodges for two nights. Saturday was a very enjoyable day. We organised a Paddy wagon bus tour of the Dingle Peninsula. The weather was beautiful for the tour.

We weren’t five minutes on the bus, when we came across Paudie O'Shea's Pub, Ventry. In true Macra style we stopped off for one beverage and photos. The scenic views of the peninsula were amazing.

We visited Peig Sayers grave which brought back fond memories to people who studied her for the Leaving Cert. Saturday evening we had a group meal in Murphy’s Pub. Afterwards we made the most of the final night touring the pubs of Dingle.
